چکیده
The fundamental mechanisms controlling shear strength and deformability behavior of clay-fiber mixtures have still not been well established, nor the constraints that may affect their performance shearing under different drainage conditions. This study aims to understand a clay soil mixed with polypropylene fibers using results from drained undrained triaxial compression tests, provide necessary calibration data for prediction model. In increased fiber inclusion given mean effective stress, represented by an increase in apparent cohesion. was affected pore water pressure generation. Results tests indicate content had greater influence on cohesion than friction angle. Drainage improvement peak fiber-reinforced soils, superior tests. As percent decreased increasing confining stresses both difference attributed strain at failure, failure occurring large strains but smaller • CD Positive excess pressures observed all CU were sensitive reinforcement. All indicated reduction reinforcement stress. (mostly strength) soils Jamei et al. (2013) model adequately predicted low stresses.

Shear Strength of Fiber-Reinforced Clayey Sands
Consolidated-drained triaxial compression tests were conducted to compare the stress-strain and volume change response of sands and clayey sands reinforced with discrete randomly distributed poly-propylene fibers. The influence of various test parameters such as fiber content (0.0%, 0.5% and 1.0% by weight), clay content (0%, 10% and 20% by weight), relative density (50% and 90%) and confining ...

In this study the performance of clay nano-particles on the soil reinforced with Polypropylene fibers (PP-fiber) has been investigated. Also a series of investigations concerning the effect of random orientation of fibers on the engineering behaviour of soil were conducted. Soil mixtures were modified with varying percentages of nanoclay and Fibers. Unconfined compressive strength (UCS), Compac...
متن کاملStrength and Toughness of Reinforced Concrete with Coated Steel Fibers
The effect of zinc phosphate (ZP) and zinc calcium phosphate (ZCP) coatings on the reinforcing mechanisms of smooth steel fiber in cementitious matrix have been studied. The results of pull out tests illustrated that by coating smooth steel fiber the pull-out load may be increased up to 100%. The effect of zinc phosphate coating on interface bonding was more than zinc-calcium phosphate coating....
متن کاملImprovement of Strength Parameters of Sand Reinforced with Polymeric Fibers
Triaxial consolidated drained, unconfined compression, and CBR tests have been conducted in order to study the stress-strain, strength, and volume change characteristics of fine sand specimens reinforced by polymeric fibers made from carpet wastes. The variables are aspect ratio (length/width) and weight percentage of the fibers. The results indicate that the peak strength and total volume chan...
